God just blows my mind. The saying is "The Devil is in the Details" but I have to say that lately God has been showing me just how much he is in the details at work...
Example one...my friend (whose husband has recently lost his job) was praying for God to provide a way for her to continue Weight Watchers. Through a lot of small details God did just that! First, he placed it on a friend's heart to bring her a bag of goodies (all healthy...low weight watcher points) the very morning she prayed for His provision. Then, He provided a way for her to continue the weekly meetings.
My friend later told me, "I can't mess this up. I asked God to provide and He has. I have to do this now." Wow! How profound! How often do I pray for things, God answers the prayers, then I take the provision for granted?
Example two...a client came into our office today. He had a small balance, one in which I have the authority to write off. However, I chose not to do this because of his difficult personality. I happened to see the client had an appointment and I advised the front office staff to collect the payment. I really did not think this person would pay, but wanted to make him aware face-to-face since he has ignored the monthly statements. (Okay...I am not perfect here, just forgiven.) God blew my mind once again!
The receptionist came to my desk and asked for change. She was visibly shaken. She proceeded to tell me that the client said he could not pay his bill. Then the lady standing behind him (who did not have an appointment but happened to be in the area and dropped by because she had a question) said, "I will pay his bill. How much is it?"
Wow! What do you do? It was not the money but the principal in asking for his payment...or was it more? She turned to our client and said God is our provision. He blesses me so that I can bless You. When the receptionist gave her the change, she said, "Praise God! I even have money for gas!" Our client was dumbfounded. He thanked her.
I know she planted a seed in him today. Normally, I would have written off his balance, but did not because of his attitude. God used that. He is so in the details...He is so real! He is making Himself so real to me and the staff in the office. Praise God for using my attitude (maybe not the right one) and using it for His Glory!!! Thank God for Your Provision in all of our lives!"
2 Corinthians 9:8 (New International Version)
8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
I will sing for joy in God, explode in praise from deep in my soul! He dressed me up in a suit of salvation, he outfitted me in a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo and a bride a jeweled tiara. For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms,So the Master, God, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations. Help for the Brokenhearted
Psalms 34: 17-18
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
My daughter recently suffered a break up with her boyfriend--her "first love". It is so hard as a mother to see your child hurt and not be able to do anything to make it better...unlike when she was small and fell and I could just bandage her wound. A broken heart is not so easy for a mother to fix. So, I have prayed for her and cried with her. She has been pitiful. Although I know that God will deliver her, and, that this too shall pass, at this time in her young life, she does not.
On Sunday afternoon she received a text from a friend telling her that she had a special unspoken prayer for her that morning in Sunday School. She also shared with her the above verse. Wow! When a mother does not know what to say, God does.
When we are broken hearted and feel alone, God is still there. He cares about our hurts, even if they seem so small. What a promise that we have a Father who cares and hears us when we cry out to him and is close during the times of our broken heart and that he does SAVE us when our spirit is crushed.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your Grace and Mercy. Thank you for your Love and thank you for helping the brokenhearted and crushed in Spirit. Amen.
